Building bird nest box's

Do you work in a office and have access to a printer , perhaps a laminator too ?

We are building a few bird nesting box's and would be delighted if you could print and post or drop into the shed with a set of plans for making bird box's . Our postal address is Athy Mens Shed , Unit 9 Athy Enterprise Center Athy Co. Kildare.

Looking to the Future :
Older and LGBT in Kildare

Many older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Ireland grew up in a time when being open about their sexuality was almost impossible, and it remains extremely difficult for many. As a result, members of the LGBT community are more at risk of becoming lonely and isolated in their old age. There are also emerging issues about the provision of care (residential/home) for older LGBT people, particularly those who are HIV positive or Transgender.

We invite you to join us in exploring ways to ensure that older LGBT people in Kildare and its surrounds have the best possible opportunities for living a positive and active life, to discuss how these risk factors may be addressed, and to explore steps that can be taken to achieve positive change.

Panel Speakers and Workshop Facilitators will address topics such as the LGBT experience of aging in Ireland, what is being done for older LGBT people elsewhere in Ireland, issues around carers and residential care facilities, aging with HIV/AIDS, aging and Transgender, and community responses to hard-to-reach groups.
